Podcast Episode 1: Jai Uttal
I am thrilled to introduce the first episode of our podcast featuring my dear friend Jai. In 2007, his album "Shiva Station" with the Pagan Love Orchestra expanded my understanding of the possibilities of blending Indian devotional music with western vibes, and it blasted open my heart and mind.
I was then lucky enough to attend one of Jai's kirtan camps and experience his wisdom and magic firsthand. After getting to know him, I had the privilege of creating an entire remix album titled 'Dial M for Mantra' by handpicking my favorite songs from a selection of his most beloved releases. I co-produced it with Sahuna Love of Shamans Dream.
Over the years, we've stayed in touch, and I'm thrilled that our interview is the first episode of this new podcast. Jai shares timeless wisdom, humor, and stories about the tapestry that was woven beneath what most people know as the work of Jai Uttal. I hope you enjoy it!
